The first show on grass in 2024 and we are at the Guernsey Riding & Hunt Club for their two day Derby Show. So lucky with the weather as the heavy rain was just overnight with both days dry and sunny. Always nice to photograph on grass, especially with the clean and green backdrop available at the GRHC. There was also the opportunity for shots over natural obstacles with both the Derby Bank and the hedge (shot below) in action on day two.
Over the two days there were plenty of classes for all abilities as well as affiliated an unaffiliated. There were also several nice moments. A first trophy win for one very happy rider. One young rider braving the hedge, rather than taking the easy option, and several times different riders receiving support through shouts of encouragement or in-arena/after class help. Altogether a lovely Show.
