Derby Show at the Guernsey Riding & Hunt Club this weekend for the first two day show of 2023 and its a bit of mixed start. Due to the rain during the week we are in the all-weather for Saturday but the sun is out and its a lovely day. Sunday we’re in the main grass arena so we can use the derby bank and the ski-jump but its a late start due to rain and is overcast.
Whilst the weather may not have been great the competition was close and fun over both days and there were plenty of smiling faces clutching silverware by the end of the event. We also saw the return of a fizzy combination with Pepsi doing Pepsi speed things and Nicky ‘enjoying’ every minute (!) as well as some new horse and rider combinations.

I was also able to quickly photograph the Guernsey Junior Team going to Jersey to compete in their Liberation Show next week. Good luck to Amelia, Georgia (Captain) and Zac. With a Senior and Junior Team going that is twice the trophies coming back to Guernsey.
